Information on lay-bys with facilities – Kirkby Stephen area
Toilet facilities are provided a few days before the Fair for use by those travelling to the Fair at the following lay-bys:
• Belah Layby, Brough Sowerby, Kirkby Stephen on the A685
• Jubilee layby, Kirkby Stephen on the A685Bin bags will be provided at these locations, please keep the area clean and tidy, bag all your rubbish and leave by the side of the road for collection.
Belah Lay-by provides accommodation space for approximatley 15 caravans / bow tops and Jubilee layby for approximatley 5. The overriding message is please do not come early to the Fair, places to stop on route are limited and are needed by those who have no vehicular transport. It is, however, recognised that horse drawn bow tops and also some horse dealers have to adopt a staged approach when travelling to the Fair and these overnight stopping places are essential for their journey.
