Information on temporary stopping places - Soulby, Kirkby stephen

Soulby Village Green provides an overnight staging post for horse drawn bow tops. The green can accommodate approximately 20 bow tops. Space for vehicle drawn caravans is very limited and allows for a maximum of about six caravans. There are limits set as regards the areas and dates of use of the village green.

Separate areas have been designated for use by caravans, horse-drawn bow tops and for horse grazing and these are illustrated on this map.

Please note that you do not have a legal right to be on this land and the Police, local Council or Parish Council can evict you at any time. A Traffic Regulation Order will be in place in relation to roads around the village green and any vehicles parked on the road will be issued with a fixed penalty fine and may be towed away.

Occupancy of the village green is allowed as follows:

From 10am Friday 27 May 2011 to Thursday 9 June 2011.
Camping will not be permitted at any other times.
No facilities will be provided with the exception of rubbish collection arrangements.
